Are you accepting new clients?
I am accepting new individual and couple clients at the moment.
How to schedule an appointment?
The best way to schedule an appointment, is to visit the online client portal here. This is where you can see what is currently available. Once you find a time that fits your schedule, you will submit your information to request your session.
The request to schedule a session is asking me for my credit card, will I be charged?
Your card will only be charged after your first session. A credit card is needed to be kept on file for in the case you no-show on a scheduled session or cancel within less than 24 hours (this is for follow-up sessions).
What happens after I request an appointment?
You will then receive a confirmation email to the request you submitted, which will have a link for you to conveniently complete your intake paperwork prior to your session.
I will have a chance to review this information prior to you coming into your session.

What can I expect from my first session?
Your first session will consist of me getting to know you, your reason for coming to therapy, what you expect from therapy, and setting therapy goals.
When you arrive to the office for your first session, you will need to sign in on an iPad. You can sign up as "existing client" since you would have already completed the informed consent forms.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
- If you know with more than 24 hours that you will need to cancel your session and/or reschedule it, you may do so by logging into your client portal.
- I will receive a notification at that moment of your cancellation.
- If you request a new appointment, I will also receive that request and will approve it.
- You will then receive a confirmation of your new appointment.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
I do not offer evening nor weekend appointments. My hours are 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday, with my last session being at 3:00 p.m.
What if you don't accept my insurance?
Since I am only in network with a few insurance companies (BCBS PPO, Optum, United Health Care, and MultiPlan) and if you wish to still use your insurance, you may utilize your out-of-network benefits. This means you will pay the full rate amount and I will provide you with documentation in your client portal to provide to your insurance company. It is possible you may receive a partial or full refund for the fees you paid.
How long does therapy last?
There is no set limit as to how long therapy will last. For some people, it may be that they need some support to overcome a small hiccup in life. For others, it may be that they need to overcome a traumatic event or are dealing with grief and loss. As your therapist, I am here to provide support as you work towards your long-term goals.
How is therapy different from the online classes you provide?
- In therapy, I work one-on-one with clients creating a treatment plan and implementing therapeutic interventions. There is more verbal communication, regardless if these sessions are in-person or online.
- With the online classes, therapy is not provided and the information you receive will be from downloadable worksheets and pre-recorded videos. The online classes are not a substitute for therapy; however, the information that is shared in the online classes, is the same material that is covered with clients in a therapy setting.
- Be sure to check out the online class questions!
What kind of therapy approach do you use?
I enjoy utilizing a multitude of therapy approaches; such as, mindfulness-based psychotherapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and emotional-focused therapy. I also utilize solution-focused therapy when working with individuals and structural family therapy when working with families. Throughout our sessions, I utilize therapy techniques that I find fit best with your therapy goals.
What is a LMFT?
LMFT stands for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. This means that I was trained in working with couples and families and have a deep understanding on how to apply systemic therapy interventions.
My license involves me to maintain applicable continuing education units in order to renew my license bi-annually. This ensures that I am staying up to date on research in the field.

What does it mean to be an EFT therapist?
In addition to maintaining my LMFT license, I am also receiving additional training that furthers my specialty in working with couples. EFT stands for Emotionally Focused Therapy and is a relative short-term treatment (8-20 sessions). By utilizing this approach, it allows me to have a clear framework when working with couples, which helps both clients and myself identify progress and to restructure emotional connection.
